A Colorful Teacher Appreciation Wall
During Teacher Appreciation Week my school created a colorful place where students and parents could share their compliments.
Attached to the wall were small baskets filled with slips of colorful paper that people could use to write their notes. When they were done, they could tape the notes anywhere on the wall. It was fun to watch the area grow more colorful as the week progressed, and even more fun to read the notes! In today’s culture people seem to find it easier to express complaints than compliments, so it was refreshing to read some positive things instead. I think every school should provide a place like this and encourage their community, not just during Teacher Appreciation Week, but throughout the year, to express appreciation.
