Today I had a great time creating my own “Welcome to 6th Grade” banner.  It was certainly much cheaper than buying one, and it added a unique touch to the entryway.

It was also really simple to make. I cut the triangles out of scrapbook paper, then went to dafont, a website full of free fonts, to find some cute letters. For this particular project, I wanted to use a different font for each letter, so I downloaded a variety of them.

I’m sure you can figure out what happened next: I typed each letter into Word, selected which font I wanted it to appear in, adjusted the size, and printed it out on regular white paper. I then cut around each letter using some fancy scissors. (Those are always fun to have on hand.)

The last step was punching a few holes in the top of each triangle and threading string through my new custom banner. Easy, right?
