Social Media for Teachers
Gearing up for school means attending teacher’s convention this week. I’m blessed to work for a conference that puts together such a lovely program full of information and opportunities for teachers to fellowship before it’s time to return to school.
On Tuesday I attended a great workshop presented by my colleague and former student-teacher, Aaron Koleda. He enthusiastically helped teachers see the value in social media and showed them how easy it is to get started. What I especially enjoyed was hearing from his personal experience how using Twitter has extended his professional connections and provided valuable teaching resources. The opening video to his presentation definitely showed that social media is the way of the future, and that we as teachers will benefit greatly if we get on board with it.
You can view his full presentation (which includes directions on how to set up your own Twitter account, webpage or blog) here. I also encourage you to check out his blog, Direct-2-Tech for more ideas on integrating technology in the classroom.
