Students Make Friend Want-Ads

Lesson 2 of our science unit “What Am I Worth” gives young people advice on what to look for when choosing friends. After reviewing the lesson I asked my students to create want-ads that describe what they are looking for in friends. The ads had to be fewer than 25 words and include who to contact and how. When they were done, I placed the ads on the bulletin board inside our classroom. So far students have been very interested in looking at the ads, and I’m now encouraging them to think of making a new friend.
